Gateway to America

Departs from World Financial Center. Sights include the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, South Street Seaport, Governors Island and Brooklyn Bridge.

New York Harbor for centuries has been the great portal to America. Its role in the birth of the nation, growth of commerce, defense of the city and immigration, in large part defined who we are today as New Yorkers and indeed Americans.

Narrated by actress Kathleen Turner, this one-hour tour's sweeping narrative features among others: David McCullough, Pulitzer-Prize winning author of The Great Bridge; Ken Jackson, historian and author of The Encyclopedia of New York City and national park rangers.
